The Oklahoma City Thunder took a 1-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Western Conference semifinals, winning 117-95 in game one Tuesday.

 

After sweeping New Orleans in the first round of the playoffs, OKC kicks off round two with a 22-point victory in front of a raucous home crowd.

 

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers with 29 points while shooting 50% from three. The MVP candidate was also one assist and one rebound shy of finishing with a triple-double, with nine assists and nine rebounds.

 

Rookie center Chet Holmgren scored 19 points and blocked three shots, and Jalen Williams finished with 18 points, five rebounds and five assists after a slow first half. Aaron Wiggins contributed 16 points on 71% shooting from the field off the bench.

 

OKC shot over 45% from three as a team while holding Dallas to 39% on field goals. Dallas’ 95 points is the team’s lowest point total of the playoffs so far.

 

Game two between the Thunder and Mavericks takes place in Oklahoma City on Thursday, May 9, at 8:30 P.M. central time.
