Edmond Santa Fe's football program announced two additions to its coaching staff Thursday.
Erik Holt was introduced as defensive line coach, while current Wolves’ linebackers coach Wes Crosson becomes the new freshmen team's head coach.
Holt joins Santa Fe after serving at Perkins-Tryon since 2019, where he coached football as well as baseball.
Last season, his defense racked up 30 sacks and 13 interceptions while allowing 18 points per game as the Demons went 9-3 and made the Class 3A playoffs.
Holt also previously coached and taught at McCloud and Washington, respectively. He attended Deer Creek-Lamont High School and graduated from Oklahoma State in 2013.
Crosson has been a staple for Wolves athletics for over a decade. He has coached at Edmond Santa Fe for 12 years, most recently as linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. He also is the head track and field coach.
Crosson played football for Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., graduating in 2004. Before that, he attended Ponca City High.
With summer practices ramping up across the state, Santa Fe is rounding out its roster as well as its coaching staff heading into fall. The Wolves will practice until Aug. 17, when they will be involved in their first live action at the Mustang/Westmoore/Enid scrimmage.
Santa Fe opens its 2023 season at Jenks on Aug. 25, at 7 p.m.
