A community is never stronger than when it comes together for a common cause – and that includes when it reaches out collectively to offer a helping hand.

The second annual Edmond Community Fair is an example of that idea.

Set for Saturday, May 7, at Edmond North High School, 215 W. Danforth Road, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Fair will bring together organizations and – most importantly – people willing to extend that helping hand, which can only make our community stronger.

The City of Edmond – including both the Edmond Police and Fire departments – the Edmond Public Schools Foundation, civic organizations, regional churches and support groups are teaming to provide not only a fun-filled event for school-aged children but also provide access to vital resources and services for the underserved and underinsured.

More than 40 agencies will be on hand to provide free immunizations for children, a free hot dog lunch provided by the Edmond Police Department, free snow cones donated by Bahama Bucks, popcorn, princess characters, and bags of non-perishable food, while supplies last.

The event is presented by the City of Edmond, in partnership with the Edmond Public Schools Foundation and The United Way of Central Oklahoma.
