Charlotte D’Andriole-Smith (right), an Advanced Placement history teacher at Classen School of Advanced Studies, congratulates Semony Shaw, an Academic All-Stater from Edmond, during the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Academic Awards Banquet, held recently in Tulsa. Shaw, a 2023 graduate of the Classen School of Advanced Studies, was among 100 outstanding seniors from Oklahoma public schools who were honored by the foundation as Academic All-Staters. She received a $1,500 Academic All-State award sponsored by foundation trustee Polly Nichols and her husband Larry of Oklahoma City. D’Andriole-Smith was Shaw’s honored teacher guest at the awards banquet and presented her with her Academic All-State medallion. The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence is a statewide nonprofit organization that recognizes and encourages academic excellence in Oklahoma’s public schools.
